Last fortnight's update adds some new features to the profile including custom sections that allow you to showcase your work (example below). We have designed the profile to not be boring like the ones on LinkedIn and at the same time be more substantive than what you can do on social media. The profile + your custom URL is our attempt at helping you build your own corner on the open web.

This post reiterates why you should build that corner now and why here. The web started with a big promise - to be the first truly global, decentralized, open marketplace of ideas. A large proportion of that promise has been fulfilled (Google Search, Wikipedia, Netflix). Yet, for individual creators, the way the Internet has evolved presents a big challenge - the odds of discovery are worse than those of finding a needle in a haystack, given that there are close to a couple of billion websites.
